You Gotta Have Heart.

By Tatiana Velitchkov © 2002

It's that time of season. Where you separate the players
with heart from those that are in it for the paycheck.

If you don't know what I'm talking about. It's playoff time in
the National Football League! That time when regular season
records, triumphs, heartbreaks, salaries and individual stats
mean absolutely nothing. This is where you "put up or shut up",
and the last one standing is crowned champion.

Every year there is a new story of glory that comes from one
team, one player, one spectacular play that defines the entire
playoffs. One year it was Kurt Warner, quarterback for the St.
Louis Rams. He was working in a grocery store the year before
he made the team. He ended up taking the Rams to Superbowl
Glory.

Last year it was Ray Lewis, linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens.
He bounced back from severe legal trouble to general his team's
defense and dominate the New York Giants in their Superbowl win.

Who will it be this year? Who will step up from obscurity? I
don't know but they will have to have one thing that both Warner
and Lewis had.

Heart.

Yes, I know, you hear it all the time in sappy sports movies.
But, it's the one single factor that shows up in winners
everytime.

Internet Marketing can be thought of as a sport don't you think?

Sure, there isn't really a set season, or multi-million dollar
stadiums, or even a championship game in which the best our
league has to offer squares off against each other for total
supremacy.

But, there is a trophy. A grand trophy that can be won by
anyone and everyone. It might not be the Stanley Cup or the
Vince Lombardi Trophy, but it's our most sought after prize.

We are all striving to one day build an Internet empire, quit
our jobs and live our dream lives. We are all scraping,
clawing, and digging our way to our own Championship Game where
we can finally beat the odds and have our own Victory Parade
down our city streets.

Can we get there? Can we become our own hero's and rise above
our own normal performances and finally achieve our final
rewards?

We sure can. But, it's gonna take a lot of...

Heart.

What is truly going to mark you as a champion, a winner at this
Internet game, is how well you dig down, persevere, and fight
your way back when the times get tough.

Last year, after the horrible events of Sept. 11th, businesses
around the world all got hit with a major slowdown. Sales were
not coming in, people were losing jobs and the world's economy
wobbled a bit.

Internet entreprenurs, all sitting in their home offices, were
wondering when the next sale will come in. Advertising was
slow, new start ups weren't getting the big jump out of the
gates, and even time tested info products were showing they were
vulnerable.

But, you started to see people thinking of ways to jumpstart
their sales again and get back on track to winning thier grand
prize.

Sales, package deals, major joint ventures, and innovative
advertising were factors that saved most Internet Marketers.

Know what the most important factor of all was? Yup...

Heart.

Internet Marketing is a game. At times it can be tough. It can
make you want to throw in the towel, collect your equipment and
go home.

But, it can also be fulfilling and oh so rewarding.

Thousands of new people are making their way to the Internet in
search of their own World Series Ring, or Vince Lombardi Trophy
everyday. The ones that make it there will show great focus,
determination, unrelenting perseverance and yes, most of
all...

Heart.
